To enable me to set the alignment using the 2008 server I did the following – 1.       Removed the 2003 VM from inventory (but left the vmdk on the storage) 2.       In my case even after doing so the issue was still present and it was not until I started the Logical Disk Manager Administrative Service that the problem went away.Cheers. 0 DISKPART> list partition Partition ### Type Size Offset ------------- ---------------- ------- ------- Partition 1 Primary 250 GB 32 KB DISKPART> select partition 1 Partition 1 is now the selected partition.
