Could Not Set Up Dom0

Posibilities that I have considered: 1. what you describing does not seam to be be Xen issue but your network issue. In this case, the PCI device would be a USB adaptor, and thus WinXP will see all devices and hubs under that adaptor. http://www.doretta82.it > > > _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > [email protected] > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users [Morewiththissubject...] Re: [Xen-users] Could not setup DOM0 guest OS, Source

With the firewall on, there appropriate iptables information was there to direct packets onto the bridge. Why this is ignored by the kernel team I do not know. I can't use the software-only product, because it requires a windows computer as host, with access to the native USB hardware. Make sure the NIC card is listed in the PORT= line (this was missing in my config file).

I've created new entry in /boot/grub/menu.lst:title Arch Linux and Xen 4.1 root (hd0,0) kernel /boot/xen-4.1.1.gz module /boot/linux3s root=/dev/sda1 ro module /boot/linux3s.imglinux3s is kernel 3.0 stable. But Xen Dom0 fails to boot:(XEN) *** Is there a way to set this up so packets from ANY desired subnet are visible to the VM through the bridge? It turns out the YAST configuration utility (and my ignorance) combined to mess up the interface configuration files for the NIC card and the bridge. Anyway, if any folks on this list have solved this problem in any of the above ways -- or others I haven't thought of -- please share the details with me.

Although I haven't tried to setup exactly what you describe, I'll answer on general principles... - Whether talking about physical networks or virtual networks, the rules to "see" each other remain Your comment about IP tables is correct. I tried several variations of route options without success on both the VM and Dom0. Tried using the -server version hoping that it would be 'xen-enabled', but got the message reported by wamcvey above. Use PCI passthrough, so DomU sees an entire PCI device. I used to design medical electronics for neural implants.

I wanted to set up an Opensuse 13.1 XEN server with a SLES_11 VM running my mailserver. What is everyone else using for their dom0 OS? so the host is on the WAN network and all VMs are on the internal virtual network routed via host NAT server or something. If you don't understand subnetting, a second IP address on an interface may be a simple way to enable network connectivity.
